About Bamoir Bishnupur Vivekananda Smriti Sangha
Registered non-profit voluntary organization dedicated since 2003 to disability rehabilitation, geriatric care, and rural development in West Bengal.
Transforming Rural North Bengal through Dedicated Community Action
Bamoir Bishnupur Vivekananda Smriti Sangha (BBVSS) is a premier secular non-governmental organization registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act XXVI of 1961 (Registration No. S/73617). Born out of the deep commitment of local community elders, teachers, and social workers in Karandighi block, Uttar Dinajpur, the Sangha was established to address severe deficits in disability rehabilitation, special education, and elderly destitution in this remote rural border area.
Over more than two decades of dedicated grassroots service, BBVSS has grown from a village youth group into a nationally recognized social welfare institution. With the recognized support of the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (MOSJE), Government of India, the Department of Mass Education Extension & Library Services, Govt. of West Bengal, and the Uttar Dinajpur Zilla Parishad, the organization operates full residential campuses for children with intellectual disabilities and destitute senior citizens.
